The invisible victims of the bombings in Boston (Part 2)_

Media, internet, and social media platform can decide who is the suspect?

Although the FBI determine the two bombing suspects for the first time on April 19, but there are many reports claim Arab or African-American suspects before the announcement.

Tuesday afternoon, all the virtual statements were eventually punctured. A report determined the Saudi Arabs marathon man is only witnesses, not suspects. A U.S. official told CNN: "He was just at the wrong time in the wrong place (in fact everyone else) and even Fox News also said, the Saudi Arabs man completely was ruled out suspects. Governor, Deval Patrick, said in the press conference: "Do not be inhumane to treat specific groups of people."

Even if the prisoner is another Saudi Arabs, it does not mean we can treat this innocent man. However, it is the way media to murder Saudi Arabs and Muslims. Today, because of more and more internet and communication tools, it is easier to spread information and media can use these tools to earn much more profits. But if media does not set a standard to treat people and groups equally, these tools may enhance more bad things such as discrimination.

Let's compare with different terrorists.

In U.S. media, the double standards is that Caucasian terrorists are a lone wolf, but Muslims as a whole are  a group real threat. (resource: SALON)

Timothy McVeigh, who killed 168 people in Oklahoma City in a care bomb is considered to be white absolute exception, but Osama bin Laden is seen as a typical representative of the Muslim.

Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings resulting in 28 deaths, but no media questioned the tendency shooting violence because of the suspect Adam Lanza white identity. Media only made the conclusion that he has peculiar psychological problems.

On the contrary, American conservatives strongly opposed to report such attacks from the local non-Muslim.

American conservatives often avoid reporting cases of non-Muslim terrorist attacks. Fox News, the representative of American conservatives, reported many Muslim terror attack case on September 11, 2010, but did not report the day before when Justin Carl Moose, claiming to be "Christian Bin Laden,  planned bomb attacks abortion clinics and has been arrested. Today, people get many information from internet and social media. If media still use double standards to report news and events, eventually media will enhance the difference among different people and groups and lead to more and more conflicts and wars. Hopefully, government and media can still use the similar standards to treat different groups and make our world peaceful.
